Remember to whom you belong

“You’re amazing, just the way you are.”

I am not sure if the songwriter had a revelation at the time he wrote it, but this is exactly what Jesus is saying to you right now. Here is why.

“So God created man in His own image; in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them.” Genesis 1:27

If God made us in His own image, how can we be anything but pleasing in His sight?

But more than this, Jesus says,

“For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved.” John 3:16-17

Now if we, in and of ourselves, were sinless and therefore righteous to God, He need not have sent Jesus to die for us. But despite our fallen nature, God still loves us so much that He would be willing to send Jesus to die for us on the cross, so that we can be reconciled to God through His Son.

“For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.” 2 Corinthians 5:21

And because Jesus has paid the price for our sins and satisfied the wrath of God with regards to our sins,

“There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit.” Romans 8:1

So “What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us?” Romans 8:31

“Who shall bring a charge against God’s elect? It is God who justifies. Who is he who condemns? It is Christ who died, and furthermore is also risen, who is even at the right hand of God, who also makes intercession for us.” Romans 8:33-34

“Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us. For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.” Romans 8:37-39

Oh if we could only fathom the love of the Father for us, and the love of Jesus who was willing to lay down His life for us, we would only begin to scratch the surface of God’s love for us. For it was not by command that Jesus lay down His life for us, but out of love,

“I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd gives His life for the sheep.” John 10:11

“Therefore My Father loves Me, because I lay down my life that I may take it up again. No one takes it from Me, but I lay it down of Myself. I have power to lay it down, and I have power to take it again. This command I have received from My Father.” John 10:17-18

Beloved child of God, Jesus, through His death on the cross, has become your righteousness. You have been made whole and clean before God. You have been made pleasing in His sight. Don’t let the world tell you differently. God is no longer angry with you, because of what Jesus has done. So,

“Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need.” Hebrews 4:16

And friend, if you haven’t made Jesus your Lord and Savior, and would like to partake of His saving grace, come boldly now. There is nothing you can do nor need to do to merit His grace. His gift is freely given. And as it is written, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life, you too can receive His gift of everlasting life, if you would just believe on Him. If that is you, would you say this prayer with me,

“My heavenly Father, I acknowledge your call in my life today. I hear you knocking at the door of my heart, Jesus, and I open my heart willingly to You. Jesus I believe that You died on the cross for my sins, and because of Your shed blood on the cross, I can now receive full remissions of sins. All my sins have been forgiven, past, present future. I believe that there is now no more condemnation for me and it is all because of Your work on the cross. Thank you Jesus for Your love for me. Thank you that I am now and forever will always be, a beloved child of The Most High God. In Jesus’ name, Amen.”

You are now amazing in the sight of God! Revel in His joy today!
